محفوض: لبنان ليس ورقة تفاوض

عقد رئيس حركة التغيير المحامي إيلي محفوض مؤتمرًا صحفيًا بعنوان: "لبنان ليس ورقة تفاوض"، جاء فيه:

أتوجه اليكم اليوم باللغة الإنكليزية، ولعلّها المرة الأولى التي أخاطب فيها وسائل الإعلام بهذه اللغة. والسبب أن الرسالة التي سوف أتلوها أمامكم اليوم هي رسالة وموقف موجهة ليس فقط للبنانيين وحدهم ، بل موجّهة للمجتمع الدولي ولكل من يعنيه لبنان وقضيته ومستقبله. لذلك اخترت أن أخاطب العالم بلغته، وأوصل من خلاله صوت وموقف لبناني.

ENGLISH – OFFICIAL STATEMENT
To the international community, and to everyone who has a role, an interest, or a responsibility in Lebanon, I want to say this today:
I want to begin with the clarification recently offered by Ambassador Tom Barrack regarding his remarks on Lebanon.
I welcome that clarification, and I take this opportunity to make one thing absolutely clear.
Before anyone attempts to shape Lebanon’s future, they must understand Lebanon, learn its history, and recognize the importance of this country.
Read Lebanon’s history before you speak about Lebanon.

Lebanon is not a footnote on the map of the region, not a bargaining chip at a negotiating table, and certainly not a commodity to be bought, sold, or traded among states.
And if we approach the region through a Kissinger-style lens, let us remember that Lebanon cannot be understood through deals and balances of power alone.
This is a land with its own history, memory, and identity—a land mentioned in the Bible. Moses longed to see Lebanon. God allowed him to see the land, but did not permit him to enter it.
So, let us not misread Lebanon.
Great powers may negotiate over influence, strike deals, and reshape regional balances. But Lebanon is not theirs to trade away.
Lebanon is a sovereign state. Its people and its legitimate institutions alone have the right to determine its destiny.
And if the Lebanese government is indeed the sole legitimate authority, then that principle must be respected fully—not selectively.
Lebanon is a friend of the United States. But friendship does not mean surrendering our sovereignty.
Lebanon is no one’s prize.
No one’s compensation.
No one’s appendage.
And no one’s gateway to a larger deal.
Lebanon is not a commodity to be bought and sold.
Lebanon is not a bargaining chip. Lebanon is a sovereign nation—and it must be treated as such.

إلى المجتمع الدولي، وإلى كل من له دور أو مصلحة أو مسؤولية تجاه لبنان، أقول اليوم
أريد أن أبدأ من التوضيح الذي صدر مؤخراً عن السفير توم برّاك بشأن تصريحاته حول لبنان
وأرحب بهذا التوضيح، وأغتنم هذه المناسبة لأقول أمراً واحداً بكل وضوح

قبل أن يحاول أيّ كان رسم مستقبل لبنان، عليه أن يفهم لبنان، وأن يقرأ تاريخه، وأن يدرك أهمية هذا الوطن .. اقرأوا تاريخ لبنان قبل أن تتحدثوا عن لبنان. لبنان ليس هامشاً على خريطة المنطقة، ولا ورقة تفاوض على طاولة المفاوضات، وبالتأكيد ليس سلعة تُشترى أو تُباع أو تُتداول بين الدول.

وإذا كنا نقارب المنطقة من خلال عدسة شبيهة بعدسة كيسنجر، فعلينا أن نتذكر أن لبنان لا يمكن فهمه من خلال الصفقات وموازين القوى وحدها.

هذه أرض لها تاريخها وذاكرتها وهويتها، أرض ورد ذكرها في الكتاب المقدس. لقد اشتهى موسى أن يرى لبنان. وقد أتاح الله له أن يرى الأرض، لكنه لم يأذن له بدخولها. لذلك، لا تُخطئوا في قراءة لبنان..

قد تتفاوض الدول الكبرى على النفوذ، وتعقد الصفقات، وتعيد رسم التوازنات الإقليمية. لكن لبنان ليس ملكاً لها كي تقايض عليه أو تتنازل عنه. لبنان دولة ذات سيادة. وشعبه ومؤسساته الشرعية وحدهم يملكون حق تقرير مصيره ، وإذا كانت الحكومة اللبنانية هي بالفعل السلطة الشرعية الوحيدة، فعندها يجب احترام هذا المبدأ كاملاً، لا انتقائياً.
لبنان صديق للولايات المتحدة. لكن الصداقة لا تعني التنازل عن سيادتنا.

لبنان ليس جائزة لأحد .. ولا تعويضاً لأحد .. ولا ملحقاً بأحد ولا بوابة إلى صفقة أكبر .. لبنان ليس سلعة للبيع والشراء .. لبنان ليس ورقة تفاوض. لبنان دولة ذات سيادة، ويجب التعامل معه على هذا الأساس.
